Civilian Employee Arrested

On the evening of Thursday, February 23, 2023, a civilian employee of the Oceanside Police Department assigned to work as a call taker in the communications center arrived at work and exhibited signs of intoxication. The department immediately initiated an investigation. The employee was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and subsequently booked into jail.

We expect all of our employees to follow the law, and those who don’t will be held accountable. When an employee is charged with a crime, an internal administrative review is also launched to determine the appropriate next steps.
