Local emergencies can occur at any time, so it's important to know where to turn for essential information.

Here are some steps to take to ensure you and your family are getting the information you need:

• Register your cell phones with AlertSanDiego (all land lines are automatically registered). Alert SD is a regional notification system that will be able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within San Diego County impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster.  Register here

• Sign up for Nixle Public Safety Alerts by texting your zip code to 888777
• Follow the City of Oceanside on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
• Follow Oceanside Police Department on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
• Radio stations in San Diego County that provide emergency alerts are KOGO 600 AM Radio, KLSD 1360 AM Radio, and KWVE 107.9 FM Radio.
