More Indoor Businesses to Re-Open August 31

August 28, 2020

Today, the Governor announced a new blueprint for reducing COVID-19 in the state with revised criteria.  The new system uses four tiers.  San Diego County is currently in the red tier, and will be able to reopen indoor operations at a reduced capacity, beginning August 31.

The following will be permitted to reopen indoors with modifications (max. 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever less):

  • Restaurants, dine-in
  • Places of worship
  • Movie theaters
  • Museums

The following will be permitted to reopen indoors with modifications (max 10% capacity):

  • Gyms and fitness centers

The following will be permitted to reopen indoors with modifications:

  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Nail salons
  • Personal care services

To keep moving down the tiers and reopen more businesses, we all need to do our part to prevent COVID-19 spread:  frequently wash hands, wear a face covering when you leave home, minimize mixing, postpone gatherings, and keep a distance of at least 6' from others not in your household.  These measures are working, and we can't let up yet.
