San Diego County Joins State Watch List; Certain Business Operations Rolled Back
July 6, 2020
The State of California Department of Public Health has been monitoring each County for specific metrics to gauge state actions in response to the spread of COVID-19.
San Diego County's elevated disease transmission rate has triggered the first metric and the County was notified of its 'Monitoring List' status.
Today, the County reinstated more restrictive measures, effective tomorrow, July 7, 2020. For the following industries, indoor business operations must close; sectors may be modified to operate outside or by pick-up:
- Indoor sections of dine-in restaurants and bars
- Indoor wineries and tasting rooms
- Movie theaters
- Family entertainment centers
- Indoor museums
- Cardrooms
The indoor closures will be in effect until July 27 and re-evaluated then. These business sectors vs. other indoor operations were targeted because people are gathering in groups for longer periods of time, and community outbreaks have been specifically traced to these types of indoor spaces.
