Weddings

Nestled in the "heart" of the City, El Corazon is a place of vibrant energy just right for YOUR Lifestyle. El Corazon is really unlike any other facility in Oceanside. The Charles Moore/Irving Gill-architectural-themed facility was designed to "set the stage" for future public and private development at El Corazon. The building sits on six acres and provides a functional and beautiful setting that invites the outdoors in. The interior corridors are encased by large windows with a view to the serene courtyard, which gives visitors the feeling of being outdoors. Ample natural light allows the building to use natural resources more efficiently. But it is the surrounding space that is really the jewel of the facility. It is as if you are on an island, removed from the hustle and bustle of life. Drive up Senior Center Drive and transport yourself into nature and the last untouched land in “the heart” of the City. Nighttime special events enjoy the privacy of this oasis on the hill, and classes and programs enjoy a sense of relaxation and peacefulness removed from the fast pace we experience in our daily lives. El Corazon, "the heart" of the City, is alive, with the completion of the first public facility on the over 460 acres of premier Oceanside property. The El Corazon Senior Center was designed and constructed to serve one of the largest populations, adults 55 and better. It is a gathering place for social events, an affordable rental space for meetings, and the perfect setting for special occasions.

The facility will be completed in two phases. Phase One opened on June 6, 2009, is approximately 12,000 square feet, and includes classroom and meeting rooms, a dining room, kitchen space, administrative offices, a fitness room, and large lobby/reception areas housing public computer stations and a resource library. Phase Two will increase the usable space by an additional 15,000 square feet and will include additional meeting rooms and rental space.

The Parks and Recreation Division of the Neighborhood Services Department invites you to explore all that El Corazon has to offer for YOUR Lifestyle.

ECSC Classes and Programs

El Corazon Senior Center offers a wide variety of classes and programs to fit YOUR Lifestyle. Many of our classes are provided through MiraCosta Community College and are free! To access a complete listing of these and all other classes please drop by 3302 Senior Center Drive and pick up a program calendar. Schedules change monthly.

We take registration on site at ECSC daily Monday-Friday during business hours. No phone registration is taken.

El Corazon Fitness Room

The El Corazon Fitness Room or "EC Fit" for short, is the facility's 900 square foot, private gym facility that includes a combination of cardio and resistance equipment. Machines have been selected to "fit" YOUR lifestyle with selections such as a "walk-through" recumbent bike, total body trainer with swivel seat, and a circuit configuration that guides even the most novice member through an excellent workout. EC Fit operates daily, Monday through Friday, for drop-in self-guided workouts.

Rentals

Classrooms

El Corazon offers a wide array of options if it’s classroom space you are looking for. The 3,100-square-foot space can accommodate four separate activities at one time, with the use of temporary walls. The classrooms will offer a wide array of recreational programs ranging from fine arts classes to exercise offerings. The space is also available for rentals seven days a week. It can accommodate up to 150 seated. Rental of the full classroom space includes use of the South Patio outdoor space. Let us know how many people and when you want to meet, and we can have the room professionally set up to your specifications. This space is perfect for a fun yoga class as well as a corporate business meeting/function. We look forward to serving you. Just let us know how we can meet the needs of YOUR Lifestyle.

Weddings/Special Occasions

Congratulations! You are celebrating a very special event – many say this is the most important day in one’s life. We couldn’t imagine a better place for you to say “I Do” than El Corazon. The Dining Room can accommodate 96 seated. Adjacent is a serene courtyard bordered by landscaping and a large outdoor fireplace with additional seating. We invite you to contact us, tour the space, and learn about our wedding services. Weddings are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays. Friday evenings may be available upon request. Book up to a year in advance to secure a perfect date, for your PERFECT DAY!

Weddings are not the only special occasion we want to help you with. Have an upcoming anniversary, birthday bash or retirement party? El Corazon is certainly the venue for you. We have it all: a spacious Dining Room that seats 96 and seamlessly transitions to the serene courtyard included with the rental. The courtyard includes an outdoor fireplace and additional seating. The Dining Room also has a 42-inch flat-screen television, so it is not only great for formal special occasions, but is wonderful space for luncheon meetings and conferences. The Classroom space, accommodating up to 150 seated, is another space that can be rented for events and special occasions.

Tile Program:

Help support the El Corazon Senior Center by purchasing a beautiful glass tile. The Tile Fundraiser kicked off in September 2006 and has continued to raise needed funding to help purchase programming equipment now that the facility is open. Please join the many other happy customers and buy your tile today. Tiles are available in three sizes and a variety of colors.
